Velcorp Gems Announces Two New Products For the Locomotive Sector.
Gems recently released for production two LED assemblies targeted at the locomotive sector of the rail industry.  These LED's are designed to replace on a 1 for 1 basis existing incandescent lighting.  Even though the up front buy in cost is significantly higher that incandescent lighting the benefits are significant.  The LED's will reduce by a factor of 10 battery draw.  This will have a dramatic impact on annual fuel savings.  Additionally, the LED's have a 50,000 hour life expectancy which over the life of the LED will be a significant cost savings in acquisition, periodic maintenance, and logistics.  
Currently the two lamps offered are the Lunarstar 75, a replacement lamp shown below which is designed to replace a 75Volt 50Watt lamp.  This lamp will draw 66ma from the battery.  The second lamp introduced is the
Gemstar 75 1W. This LED is designed to replace the 75Volt 30Watt lamp, it is built on a B-15d base, dual pin and it will draw an amazing 33ma from the battery. Both products are currently in production.
